ATC #59: Fortune Cookie
"Fortune cookies seem like a good match for a Jirachi like Pixie. Not only do they contain a fortune, but they taste good!"
I drew this after the tournament at the Wisconsin Pokemon TCG State Championships up in Baraboo, WI, last week using *Nestly's Copics, since neither of us wanted to play in side events or anything. Good as time as any to art, plus this works as a nice belated birthday present! This is her Jirachi character, Pixie.
I'm more familiar with Prismacolor markers, but Copics are also pretty nifty. I don't think they blend quite as well, but they make a sharper image in the end, plus there are some other cool things you can do with them. I experimented with an interesting shading style, sort of splotching dots here and there to add to the effect, on top of standard shading. I was skeptical at first, but I think it worked out well!
