Warui no Butterfree

I finally got a chance to play around with my Prismacolor Markers some more!

Since I've done quite a few scraps but nothing really deviation worthy, I decided that I would go through and finish a few of the scraps that I recently uploaded. Butterfree, here, happened to be the one I was most anxious to go crazy with, and I decided that I would use my markers to color it in.

Anyway, this here is an angry, evil Butterfree. Why is it evil? You tell me! But I wouldn't want to be hit by its Sleep Powder or Psychic attacks!

While coloring this, I tried doing the darker shades first and then gradually go lighter (it said to do that on one of the tutorials I read). I don't think it quite worked for me... It's hard to see it now, but the purple shades blended kind of smudgy when I did it like that. I much prefer overlaying the darker colors onto the lighter ones. I also wish I had a slightly better color for its hands and feet... Oh well, it takes practice!

The scanner really butchered the colors when I scanned it in. Fortunately, because I am l33t in Photoshop, I corrected them so it looks almost exactly like it does in-person. That's the only computer touch-up I did, though, and only because it looked like some dumb pale blue color after it was butchered... can't have that, now!
